Aetare Green Diamond
Nature’s Rarest Secret
The green diamond is one of the most extraordinary and least understood treasures on our planet. The green diamond’s color comes from something mysterious — a journey through radiation, through time, through forces that science is still only beginning to understand.
Like all diamonds, the green diamond began as pure carbon. Deep within the earth’s mantle, under unimaginable heat and pressure, carbon atoms arranged themselves into the perfect crystalline structure that would become a diamond. But something else happened along the way…
At some point in its journey — perhaps over millions of years — the diamond was exposed to natural radiation. The radiation displaced carbon atoms from their perfect lattice, creating defects in the crystal structure. These defects absorbed certain wavelengths of light and allowed others to pass through, resulting in a subtle but unmistakable green hue. The green diamond is not colored by an impurity. It is colored by a change in its very structure — a scar that became a gift.
At Aetare, we grow green diamonds using the same HPHT (High-Pressure High-Temperature) technology used for all our diamonds. Every Aetare diamond is grown from the carbon extracted from the hair of someone you love. That carbon is purified, graphitized, and placed into a growth chamber. Through precise control of temperature, pressure, and trace elements, we can encourage the formation of a green diamond.
Green diamond is a stone of renewal. Of hope. Of life that continues beyond loss.
