Caring for Your Aetare Diamond
Your diamond is meant to be worn, but there are moments when the kindest thing you can do is take it off. Set your jewellery aside before you exercise, swim, garden or clean with household products. A simple habit protects everything: put your jewellery on last when you dress and take it off first at night.
Keeping it Brilliant
A diamond does not lose its sparkle. What happens is that it collects a thin film of oil, lotion and soap residue, mostly on the underside of the stone, and that film softens the light it returns to you.
The fix takes ten minutes. Fill a small bowl with warm water and add a few drops of mild dish soap. Let your jewellery soak for 10–15 minutes. Then brush it gently with a soft toothbrush — a baby toothbrush works beautifully. Pay attention to the back of the diamond and the space behind the prongs, where residue gathers unnoticed. Rinse under warm running water, with a strainer over the drain, then pat it dry with a soft cloth and buff the metal gently.
